The King of Paradise (楽園の王, Rakuen no Ō?) is the thirteenth volume of The Promised Neverland series. Volume 13 came with a copy of a special edition which features Posuka Demizu's colored manga art, notes on various episodes of the anime adaptations, interviews of Emma, Norman and Ray's voice actresses as well as interviews with the two authors themselves.

Author Notes

The vampiric plant Vida was featured beautifully in the anime.

Vida is a fictitious flower, but...

"The way the small flowers come together to bloom symbolizes families and unity." These were the words for the flower Verbena, and I really liked them. So I used them as reference for the design of Vida.

Spring is just about starting. For those of you who are interested, you can try growing some Verbena.

Please look forward to the next volume! I'm so inspired by the exciting plot developments that I've already thought of what to do for the next cover!

Writer Shirai's personal highlights for The Promised Neverland fanatics, part 9!

1. The grave of Kaiu Shirai (I wonder where it could be?)

2. Don is sensitive to heat (he was like that in volumes 5 and 6 too...)

3. The voice in the first panel on page 117... Whose voice is it?

By the way, according to Demizu Sensei, the motifs of volumes 1 through 12 are hidden in the volume 13 cover! Try looking for them!

Please enjoy this volume!
