Sadie (セイディ, Sadi) also referred to as Ceddy (セディ, Sedi) and Cedi (セディ, Sedi) is one of the minor character of The Promised Neverland. Sadie was a six-year-old orphan who formerly resided at Grace Field House Plant 3 as one of the many foster children of Isabella. Due to her age, Sadie was considered to be one of the house's "average-quality goods".[1]

History[]

Shipped children chap 17

Sadie amongst many children that were shipped out of Grace Field House Plant 3.

Sadie was born at Grace Field in 2039 and sent to Plantation 3 a year later in 2040, growing up along with several other children under the parental care of Isabella. She was shipped out on May 5. 2045.[2] Sadie was the child shipped before Hao.[3]

Appearance[]

Sadie's shipment

Sadie is a little girl with straight blonde shoulder-length hair. In some of her appearances, she appears to have freckles. She wore the standard Grace Field uniform- a plain white long sleeved button-up shirt and a white skirt along with brown boots. Her identification number, "29294", is tattooed on the left side of her neck.

Personality[]

She appears to be a happy child. Like all of her siblings, she enjoyed playing tag and hide-and-seek.[4] Similar to Conny, Sadie was not very intelligent and frequently scored less than 120 on her daily tests.

Plot[]

Seven Walls Arc[]

As Emma and Ray begin to traverse the Seven Walls to access Day and Night, they come across a perfect replica of Grace Field House. Upon entering, Ray finds Isabella taking a walk with many of their deceased siblings who had been shipped out in the past. Isabella welcomes Ray and comments that he has grown so much since she last saw him. Conny, Hao and Sadie then run up to Ray and began chanting "Let's play." Isabella calls out for more children to come and play. Soon, many more kids, including Marcus and Susan, started coming in from different doors chanting the same thing: "Let's play." Quickly after that, Isabella and the children's eyes began seeping a black ooze as their skin and flesh disappears, leaving nothing but their skeletons and revealing them to be nothing more than an illusion created by DemonKing Name. The skeletons of Isabella and their dead siblings then began to chase Ray around the house while chanting in really creepy voices.[5]

Relationships[]

Emma, Norman and Ray[]

Emma has a deep regard for Sadie, as she is a part of her "family". Upon learning that all of their sibling that had been shipped out were dead, Emma and Norman cry and are grief stricken. Although, Ray had learned to mask his emotions over the years, he still deeply cared for his siblings and was sad whenever someone was shipped out. Ray described all of his siblings that had been shipped out as "good kids" who were "so kind and carefree."

Isabella[]

Sadie did not know the real intentions of her caretaker and therefore it is assumed that she loved her very much, up until her death.
