  • Add a heading above your talk next time ya?

I read your message you left on Geelan's talk page, I went through the page's edit history and it turns out this user is the one who added the misleading information you have pointed out in your message. Upon further reading of Chapters 125 and 126, the info that user added was indeed false. Quote by Norman in 126:

[The Geelan clan] was framed for a crime they did not commit 700 years ago by the royal family and the five regent houses. It was like a banishment, they were sentenced to the status of those who aren't allowed to eat human meat.

The latter also mentioned in 125 to Geelan of how the royal family and the houses betrayed him.

In conclusion I apologize for the misleading info added in Geelan's page on the user's behalf. This is a fan site where any registered user can edit, thus fake and/or misleading info can be found in some smaller wikis, including TPN Wiki. Plus Geelan's page hasn't really been monitered or updated much due to lack of contributing editors. That info the user added will be removed and replaced with the accurate one I cited earlier. Sorry for any misunderstanding caused.

    • OK, will do about using a subject heading Ah, no need to apologize. I was simply confused, and desired info before deciding if the entry needed to be modified/deleted.

      Cheers.

P.S. OMG about ch. 146! Not sure what Emma's going to do after those events.

  • Hello,

Before I answer your question you had left on the guy's page, I wish to give you a headsup on two things.

    1. Please leave a heading:
      == Subject ==
on top of your message next time. There's a box on top of the talk page which clearly state that you should do that to avoid future messages from being confused with yours.
    2. Since the guy's name is a manga spoiler, you should not write his name in your message. Once again the box on top of the talk page already state how you should censor if not don't write any spoilers in your message at all. Spoilers should all be hidden with spoiler tags. I had blur out the guy's name for you.

We use "Mister" as a substitute to hide the guy's spoiler name, because it is how Emma addressed him in the official translation of the manga. Other aliases are either too long (like how the page was orginally named Shelter B06-32 Man before his name was revealed in the manga) or they are not official translation from VIZ Media. There are also visitors on this site who are anime-only fans if you are unaware.

If you have better names to replace the one the page please state them.

    • OK. But I still don't understand your logic. Even the Table of Contents contains heavier spoilers than "Mr" real name like the names of his friends and enemies. I don't see how the current version prevents new fans or Anime-only fans from readily viewing spoilers. If your argument is to prevent spoilers for nascent fans, then the whole page should be blurred because its very existence past the anime at this point is one massive spoiler.

Would it be too difficult to create media tabs/portals like the "Attack on Titan" wikia? In the link below for that series' protagonist, for instance, the tabs contain anime-only info, manga-only info, movie-only info, etc. Such that each tab are grouped together, yet have their own URL address

      https://attackontitan.fandom.com/wiki/Eren_Jaeger_(Anime)

      https://attackontitan.fandom.com/wiki/Eren_Yeager

This site did that before, I myself received at least 3 complaints about this when we follow AOT Wiki's formatting. One of them provided a logical explanation towards why the tabs (and AOT Wiki for that matter) are not good to hide spoilers. So in the end the tabs thing are removed.

"My suggestion is that you do not use the blur spoiler. Instead, show all manga info in the manga tab, and all info that has been revealed in the anime in the anime tab. Show the anime tab by default to all visitors, so nobody gets pissed by running into unwanted manga spoilers."

Even the Table of Contents contains heavier spoilers than "Mr" real name like the names of his friends and enemies.

The Table of Contents is autogenerated for every wiki across FANDOM, admins have no control in disabling it, let alone the spoilers in the TOC. If you wish for the TOC to be changed in anyway you should contact a FANDOM staff here.

    • I don't wish for this conversation to drag on too long since it took more than 48 hours for you to reply. You raised a question about the wiki's spoiler policy whilst revealing a major spoiler in the message on spoiler name guy's talk page, don't you find it quite ironic?

An anime-only fan should know which page contains 100% spoilers and hence he should not visit/read that page at all if he dont wanna know any spoilers. Like Lucas and Andrew's page for example, since they did not appear in the anime yet so their pages are entirely spoilers for anime-only visitors of this site. Plus your idea in following AOT Wiki's spoiler-hiding format ain't the best cuz I just checked and there are also people who had issues with how AOT Wiki hide their spoilers on one of their old message boards.

Unless you have a better idea on how to tweak this site's methods of hiding spoilers, the only way I can think of to censor pages with too many spoilers is to put a spoiler warning heading on top of such pages.

    • Hello, I don't normally state my opinion on matters like this if another admin is talking about it already or if it's between two people. But, I think that it is my place to state my opinion about this matter as a fellow admin.

I agree with Aprodite on this. We already used the AOT format before and decided after a while to not-use is anymore. I don't think that we should use another way to hide spoilers. I think that it is best to leave things as they are.

      Thank you.
