Hi there, I guess I haven't really introduced myself. I'm Undella, the newest-appointed admin on here. It's nice to meet you, Bagwis.
It looks as though you have recently become active here again, and I'm glad to see that. With that said, I do have a question; do you have reason for suddenly changing the whole wiki design, without asking for feedback from the other active admins here first (TG RBB and I)?
In my opinion, while the previous design did have its flaws, the current design isn't as aesthetically pleasing, subjectively speaking. The fonts on the articles are much harder to read. Not to mention that the blue colors don't match up with TPN's orange theme, and the yellow color on the articles are just... hard to see. I also noticed that some features and these "background pictures" on the navigation templates are gone, and I feel like these features is what made the TPN wiki... the TPN wiki and enhanced the experience, you know?
This is probably me just rambling my personal opinions, but I would've appreciated it if you had consulted the other admins first at least. With Aphrodite gone (may she rest in peace), I think the three active admins here should come to a mutual agreement to what to do with the wiki, including its design.
Anyway, I hope you're doing well. Look forward to hearing from you. :)
First and foremost, I do appreciate your diligence as an admin and moderator for some anime-related wikis including this community.
I understand that it is a blunder for not consulting your (and TG RBB's) opinion on this matter and I take a full responsibility on that matter.
However, while I was trying to browse around the fandom site, I came across a lot of contradicting codes and unnecessary overrides in the CSS and JS mediawiki pages that made some pages load slower than it is supposed to be. For instance,
Sprites with dimensions 1080 x 1080 are being loaded in the recent activity.
Several font families were used locally which includes "ThePromisedNeverland" and "Gentium Book Basic" but only "Segoe UI" and "Droid Serif" appear consistently.
Admin's user tags are coded twice which causes the reason why there's a twitching in Aprodite's and TG RBB's user tags
Every links has their own costumizations (different color and effects for each type: reddit links, article links, and buttons)
The costumization for navigation template's image background is unnecessary.
The (portal) slider css aren't needed since there's no internal template that utilizes such css.
Though the prior design may be "aesthetically pleasing"; if main purpose of this community's wiki --which is to serve as a reliable source of information towards the series-- is being hindered, therefore, it is reasonable --to some extent-- to sacrifice the design over content.
I will be reverting back most of the significant changes made then.
I definitely see your points and I agree with them. You can remove the things you deem unnecessary, and clean up the CSS/JS/coding stuff as you like. My only request is to keep the wiki's current color scheme, and the fonts if possible. If not that's completely fine too.
Recently, a Wiki staff-member actually asked me to clean up the ImportJS page, but I haven't found the time to. So maybe it's a good idea for me to clean up there too.
I am thinking of customizing the fonts for the headings/titles/subtitles into a similar font from TPN official shounen jump website. But I do not know how.
Corspe Party wiki seems to have this code on their Wikia.css page labelled under Custom Font which allow them to do so. Is it possible if you can help me get one for TPN wiki like how u did for the images for the sliders? The file types are in .eot , .woff , .ttf and .svg, which I do not know how to get.
I wanted to create several images for TPN wiki, like Sprites and customized font. May I know how you create those images which you used for the slides, wiki wordmark for Italian TPN wiki, the owl logos for the Portuguese and Italian wikis etc. Is there like a software or something which you used to create them?
Font like this
And images you made like this
I am looking forwards for a quick and positive reply from you soon.😁
Sometimes, when I don't work in my personal laptop, I use this online editor to tweak images on my office desktop. They are pretty much handy but requires you a lot of testing, practice, and knowledge of basic utilization of tools.
In behalf of the TPN wiki admin line, I would like to express my warm welcome and gratitude in joining us in our database-building endeavor!
Discord Chat is an integrated chat server of The Promised Neverland. You only need to click the "connect" button on the side rail and you'll be able to join the community we have there.
Also, all "newbies" are very welcomed in this community. Any kind of contribution is greatly appreciated. Perhaps, you're good at writing plots, summaries, and other stuff? That would be highly regarded on this wiki.
Hello Bagwis, Been a while..
We discussed about affiliations briefly before, but now I thought it is better as Grancrest as grown quite a bit in the last few months.
So I was wondering if you are interested in affiliating with Grancrest Wiki
Yes, the design of the wiki is built upon the ambitious endeavour of the current line of admins of this community. But of course, it wouldn't be possible without the efforts of our founding members including you.
