He has been leaving secret messages in his books with Morse Code in hopes of helping cattle children trapped in the farms.

History[]

James Ratri as William Minerva

James Ratri as William Minerva

James is an individual with a deep sense of shame for his own actions and those of his family. His revolution was birthed out of a longing to bring justice to the demons and change the world for the better and his desire to atone for his ancestors’ actions. He is a complex and intelligent man, leaving hints behind for children to survive and escape the plantations and leave the demon world. He even went as far as to endanger his own well-being and life when he tried to help the children by building safe sanctuaries, but Peter Ratri was against to his plan that's why Peter ordered his underlings to kill his brother.[1]

Appearance[]

He is depicted as a tall man, who is almost always seen wearing a suit with a black tie and a hat. On several occasions, he is seen holding a cane. It is later revealed that he is indeed a tall man, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Aside from being taller and having shorter hair than his brother Peter, the two look very similar.

Promised Forest Arc[]

the kids need to see William Minerva as soon as possible. As they walked through the forest they opened William Minerva's book and contained there how children could survive in the forest. They find out that William Minerva is taking care of them. Emma, Ray, Don and Alicia went on a secret room and they heard the the telephone is ringing. Emma answered the phone and the one who is calling is William Minerva. They opened the ball-peen and saw William Minerva's letter saying that the children needed to go to the Shelter BO6-32 because that's where they could find William Minerva.[3]When they said goodbye to Sonju and Mujika they went to the shelter. They got in there no one is there but Mr. Minerva left a letter saying the shelter is for the children. Emma, Ray, Don and Alicia went on a secret room and they heard the the telephone is ringing. Emma answered the telephone and the one who is calling is William Minerva.[4]Emma hears, to her surprise, William Minerva's voice, but her hopes are somewhat dampened by Ray, who explains it to be a recording. In said recording, Minerva explains his intentions into doing this because he saw countless children be sacrificed to demons and couldn't bear it any longer, thus starting a shelter behind their backs for children that became aware of what was really happening. He leaves the rest to the kids, and leaves a map in the Promised Pen titled "FUTURE" should they ever want to go to the human side of the world, and the recording ends.[5]

Norman reveals William Minerva and his followers are dead that's why he can't help anymore towards the human world and his younger brother Peter Ratri the gatekeeper.[6]

Peter saw William

Peter found out that William's supporters were helping the children and he said that William had thwarted his plans even though he was dead.[7]Peter remembers the story of his older brother James Ratri. When Peter is hallucinating, He saw James standing then Peter ask James "Are you trying to fight against fate?" James says "I'm sorry" Peter answered "Did you want me to be free" and Peter saw James as Emma.[8]

Relationships[]

Peter Ratri[]

Peter cries

Peter Ratri is crying because James Ratri is dead

The two of them originally had a good brotherly bond. Peter even agreed with James his way of thinking for a while because he thought that it was better. However, this seems to be a facade, as Peter later revealed that he was just pretending to agree with James his plans. Peter even went as far to take James his title of the 35th head of the family and claim it himself. He then ordered his underlings and the rest of his clans to kill his own brother, implying the hostility between the two. Despite this however, Peter didn't seem to order the hit on his brother without a conscience as he is seen crying over it. Peter only order the hit on James because while he did agree that James solution to the promise was better, Peter pessimistically concluded that it was unrealistic and that the promise was a necessary evil.
