The Imperial Capital Battle Arc (王都決戦編, Ōto Kessen-hen?) is the ninth story arc in The Promised Neverland series.
As Norman and his group begins the plan to commit genocide on the demons in the Royal Capital, a huge battle which will involve Norman, Emma, Ray, Mujika, Sonju, and Geelan against Queen Legravalima and the nobles ensues.
Summary[]
Norman starts his plan of committing genocide on the demons in the Royal Capital. Meanwhile, Geelan is thirsty for revenge against the royal family and the Queen due to the way he and his clan were treated in the past. Unbeknownst to him, he is used as a pawn by Norman and his group to weaken the Queen's state. As the blood war concludes, Legravalima manages to kill off Geelan and his people.
Meanwhile, Norman's group, consisting of Zazie, Barbara, and Cislo, infiltrate the Royals' castle and begin fighting the Queen, in which they eventually manage to massacre Queen Legravalima, Yverk, and the Five Regents as well. As Emma and Ray arrive at the scene, they are horrified by the results.
Emma tries to persuade Norman to abandon his ideas of genocide, and although initially hesitant, he realizes that he has been scared the whole time and finally accepts Emma and Ray's comfort. As the group opts to never do anything alone again, Queen Legravalima is revealed to not have been killed yet, and their group must face the terrifying true form of Queen Legravalima.
Meanwhile, in the capital, Ayshe, Don, Gilda, and Hayato do their best to protect the civilians demons from the demons who have already degenerated. Mujika and Sonju feed the demons with her blood so they never degenerate, effectively saving the population.
Mujika and Sonju arrive to join to fight against Legravalima, a fight which reveals that Sonju is the younger brother of Legravalima and a former member of the royal family, and the truth about Mujika's past. Mujika confronts Legravalima, in which the Queen slowly starts to break down and eventually Legravalima dies.
As Emma, Ray, Norman, and their group to return to the Paradise Hideout, since the royal army troops led by Peter Ratri are going to ambush it, Mujika and Sonju try to come up with a solution to manage the Demon World now that the Queen and the Five Royal Regents are dead.
