This article is about the Manga version of the Human World. For alternate pages referred to by this name, please click any of the icons above. The Human World is the parallel counterpart to the Demon World, and is where the majority of humans reside. It is where many of the materials contained in the farms, including books and toys, originate from.
Between the years 2020 and 2030, the Human World was ravaged by repeated instances of disease, epidemics, food shortages, and abnormal weather conditions, all of which finally erupted in a third World War which lasted 10 years. With so many lives lost, the broken system changed dramatically. Humans began to repair their polluted environment and band together in order to save humanity as a whole, and ideas like immigration were abolished, along with the concept of national borders.
Humanity formed one national body split into regions known as "areas". The former United States of America for instance, has been designated as Area 01, perhaps suggesting that the reorganization efforts started there. The Human World is further split into "sides", with Smee, Andrew, and all of the members of the Ratri Family apparently being from the "Meditation Side".[1]
The current Head of the Ratri Clan for the Human World is Mike Ratri. The Ratri clan have various branches throughout the Human World. Considering the only branch mentioned is the "North American Branch", they likely have branches situated in other continents.
In November 2047, countless orphans suddenly appeared all across the Human World as a result of a new promise being forged in the Demon World. The incident caused a worldwide spectacle, with the Ratri Clan responsible for handling its resolution and securing all of the wayward children.
Appearance[]
The Human World appears very similar to the world of our modern day, with famous real world landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Egyptian pyramids, and the Eiffel Tower being shown to exist, and real-world places being mentioned. Some time during the 2020s, a series of catastrophic events led to a dystopian future where humanity drove itself into a corner and subsequently banded together in the ruins of their mistake.
History[]
The chaotic past of the shared world.
Millennia ago, before the construction of plantations, both demons and humans shared one vast world, and demons were at the top of the food chain. Many humans began to hunt demons back in retaliation, while the majority worshipped them out of fear of getting eaten. This became a continuous cycle with both sides killing and fearing one another. After countless violent wars and massacres, a clan of humans known as the Ratri family proposed a treaty known as The Promise.
The promise is being made.
The Promise declared that "humans and demons are restricted from further hunting." Afterwards, the world was broken into two — one side belonging to the demons while the other belonged to the humans.
