The Grace Field House secret room is a room located in the houses on each of the five plantations at Grace Field House. The room is hidden from the orphans and located in the walls between the bathroom in the mother's bedroom and the mother's office and serves as a room for the caretaker to contact and report in to headquarters using a large radio. The room is also used to hide the toys and belongings that former orphans took with them when they were shipped out. The mothers are required to contact Headquarters every night and let them know how things are going. During their nightly check-in, the mothers are also notified of any upcoming shipments or changes in schedule.

Layout

The Grace Field House secret room consists of two small rooms, a storage room and the radio room. Both rooms are located in the walls between the mother's office and her bathroom which connects to her bedroom. There are two ways to access the secret room. The first is through a door behind a bookshelf in the mother's office and the second is through a door behind a wall in her bathroom. However, a key is needed to unlock the door through both ways. Both entrances lead into a small narrow hallway which serves as an extra storage room and contains a few bookshelves, wardrobes and extra sheets. In the center of the hallway is a trapdoor with a ladder leading down into the radio room. The trapdoor is hidden underneath a laundry basket. The radio room is a small room which contains the radio that the mother uses to report into headquarters every night. It also contains multiple bookshelves which contain records of previous children who resided at Grace Field House in years prior. The main radio is hidden behind a bookshelf and built into the wall. The toys and belongings that former orphans took with them when they were shipped out are scattered throughout the small room.

Plot

Jailbreak Arc

Emma and Gilda begin to suspect there might be a secret room in the house after they began observing Isabella for a few days and noticed she disappeared a little before 8:00PM every night. They noticed that she always either disappeared through her office or her bathroom. To test their theory, they measured the distance of both the walls inside and outside of the rooms and found that they were different.

After discussing their discovery with one another, Don, who is under the impression that Conny was still alive, decides he wants to investigate the room in hopes of finding information on Conny's whereabouts. Ray, however, strongly advises against it, saying the room may have extra security, and that ultimately it is not worth the risk, to which Emma and Norman agree.

Don, still unsatisfied, decides to investigate the room along with Gilda without Emma, Norman, and Ray's knowledge. While Emma, Norman, and Ray are distracted with decoding Minerva's Morse Code in the library, Don purposely bumps in to Isabella in the hallway and steals her key out of her pocket. Don and Gilda then proceed to enter the secret room through the door behind the bookshelf in Isabella's office. After making their way through the trapdoor and down the ladder, Don and Gilda are shocked to find Little Bunny sitting on a shelf, as well as all of the toys that belonged to their other siblings who had since left the orphanage. After discovering the radio, Don becomes suspicious that Emma, Norman, and Ray had not told them the truth about what really happened to their previous siblings. Don and Gilda then exit the secret room through the door behind the wall in Isabella's bathroom. They then discard of the key on the floor in the hallway which Eugene finds and returns to Isabella claiming she had dropped it.

Later, when the kids are escaping from Grace Field, they decide to fill in the key hole to the doors leading to the secret room with clay so that Isabella cannot enter it to alert the demons of the escape.

• The Grace Field House secret room does not appear in the live-action film.
• Despite having known the house's secret for nearly six years and being Isabella's spy, Ray was unaware of the room's existence prior to the Jailbreak Arc, although he had suspected that such a room must exist for Isabella to contact Headquarters in.
