The Grace Field Boss Demon (グレイスフィールドボスデーモン, Gureisufīrudobosudēmon?) is a minor antagonist in The Promised Neverland. He is the head Demon in charge of managing the Grace Field Farm. His job consists of giving orders to the Grandma and others Demon workers as well as deciding which orphans will be shipped out and when. He is present when the Gupna ritual is performed on orphans who where recently shipped out and informs the mothers on any recent news they could benefit from and judges their performance during shipments.
Appearance[]
He is a very tall Demon who wears a black cloak which obscures most of his body. He wears the standard Demon mask - a gray mask with two vertically placed eye holes and one small horn on each side of the forehead. He also has two long tubes that connect to the bottom of his mask and wrap around his shoulders. He has very thin and elongated fingers with long, sharp nails that are very akin to claws.
Personality[]
Not much of his personality is shown, but he clearly has no remorse for the orphans being killed and sees them as nothing more than food.
History[]
Very little is known about his history, only that at some point he was put in charge of managing the Grace Field Farm, most likely after serving as an underling for many years. He is also a loyal subordinate to Yverk.[1]
Plot[]
Introduction Arc[]
After Emma and Norman discover Conny deceased, they hide under the truck and whiteness the Grace Field House Boss Demon as well as two lesser Demon workers exit a nearby room. While the two workers package Conny’s body in a shipment bottle, the Boss looks over the recent test scores of the Plant 3 orphans and comments how they have been shipping out "average quality goods" recently, but should be harvesting some "premium quality goods" soon. He then tells Isabella to prepare the three "premium quality goods" for plucking to which Isabella dutifully obeys. After the truck leaves, the Boss discovers Little Bunny underneath which Emma and Norman forgot to take with them. He hands Little Bunny to Isabella and tells her to dispose of it.
Promised Forest Arc[]
After fifteen orphans successfully escape from Plant 3, the Boss notes that they have located footprints around the north eastern edge of the complex and orders several individuals to go after the escapees immediately. He also orders that the surrounding area be notified of the situation and offers a compensation for turning in the "goods".
Return to Grace Field Arc[]
When the escapees return to Grace Field to rescue their friends, the Boss recounts how he will never forget how humiliated he felt when he was not able to retrieve the escapees two years ago, and he vows that he will not let them escape this time. As soon as he is made aware that the escapees have entered the facility, he orders other the other Demon workers to find them and kill them. However, the escapees manage to take out the Demons ordered to kill them, so the Boss summons guards from other floors to help as well as orders for the exits to be sealed off. Although, Nigel, Hayato, and Vincent manage to hack into the system and open the doors as well as close other doors to trap the Demons chasing them.[2]
After the farm system is abolished due to the conditions of Emma's Promise, the Boss refuses to accept that Grace Field will be shut down and says that the orphans are his "property" and he will just eat all of them himself. As he approaches Emma to kill her, Isabella jumps in between them and impales herself on his claws to protect Emma. As Isabella collapses and dies, the Boss is tackled, restrained and subsequently arrested by other Demons at the scene.[3] His fate afterwards is unknown.
