Episode 21 is the ninth episode of season 2 of The Promised Neverland anime. It aired on March 12, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Emma and Ray convince Norman to stop his plan to annihilate the demons. They receive information via radio that Phil and the others are to be shipped out, and therefore need to rescue them.
Plot[]

Emma and Ray attempt to convince Norman about how they can still escape without having to kill demons, but he declares it to be too late, as the demons managing Grace Field are bound to find out. Despite Emma's attempts, they are fruitless and Norman takes in all the carnage once more, before realizing that he has done more harm than help. He breaks down crying in front of Emma, crushed by suffering he has experienced, and his rash decisions based on the time he has left. A wild demon finds and attacks them but Vylk cut off his hand and it bled. Sonju does the same and tosses it to the wild demon and it went back to normal again. Mujika came and she give the glass with blood to the female demon, instructing her to spread it to everyone so they will not degenerate again. Vylk's hands grew again and he finds out that Mujika is still alive.

Barbara and Cislo encounter a demon child and a younger demon child holding onto each other, frightened from what they've become. Barbara tries to kill the demon, but she sees herself in them and suffers a migraine due to it, letting the demons live. Zazie charges at the demon, but Norman tells him to stop. Norman clarifies that what he wants is not to get revenge to the demons but to save his family. He reveals that his condition has reached level 4 and is bound to die soon, therefore, he kept convincing himself that this was the only way to save them. Vincent is angry and wonders why they stopped but Cislo talks him out of it explains that they are done. Barbara regains her composure and replies Norman is more important than revenge. Mujika and Sonju stop by, having helped almost all the demons in the village in turning back to normal to the point the demons need only give their blood to one another. Before leaving, Mujika saw the 2 young demons and she gave the glass filled with blood to them before heading back to the temple.

Once there, Thoma and Lannion ran over to Ray in a panic and inform him that Phil and others are about to be shipped out. Unaware to them, it was a trap set up by Ratri and his newest grandma, Isabella. Talking to his demon superior, who is irritated at the blunders he had caused in the past few months, Ratri explains his plan to expand the Lambda drug-based development to other farms, demolishing the need for high-class farms such as Grace Field. The demon agrees to the plan, but makes Ratri keep some of the farms open so they can provide to the commoners.
Norman realizes that they are planning to shift to Lambda-style farms sooner than expected and Emma desperately tries to make a plan to rescue Phil and his group, despite Ray's suspicions that it's a trap. Mujika and Sonju stop by and confirm that the demon town is ok but worry that if the farms will find out about it they will come after the village, but Vylk says it is ok as the village has little to no recollection of what happened. He introduces himself to Mujika, revealing that he is one of the survivors last seen 700 years ago. As Vylk 's granddaughter gives a piece of the promised pen to Emma (Human) for helping him, Vylk recalls finding a man who was completely gored in some parts, clinging to life. After being told to give the pen to the roaming children out in the wild, he ate him, fearing that the demons will track him down and kill him and his family should he not, and he has been praying for clearance and peace ever since. When the part was connected, the pen displayed blueprints of the inside and outside of Grace Field houses, showing the gate to the human world as well as a recipe for a cure of all the side effects due to the drugs that were used on Norman and his other friends, tearing them up and renewing their resolve to live. Vylk and Emma (Demon) leave.
Isabella became a grandma.
Emma, Ray, Norman and the other children decide to go back to Grace Field in order to save Phil and the others. However, while everyone is sleeping, Vincent is seen making a radio call to Grace Field with Isabella picking up on the other side. Vincent says that he has information and is willing make a deal for it.
