Emilia (エミリア, Emiria) is one of the minor character of The Promised Neverland manga series and a recurring character from the Records of Comrades light novel. She was an orphan from the Grand Valley orphanage and Gillian's older sister whom she was transferred to Goldy Pond with.
History[]
Emilia's death
Emilia was born raised at Grand Valley orphanage, growing up alongside several other children. At some point, she and her younger sister, Gillian were shipped out and sent to Goldy Pond to become prey for the Poachers to hunt.[1] During their second hunt, Emilia was impaled by Luce while trying to protect her sister. Emilia, still alive, told Gillian to run away which she refused to do. Luce then told Gillian that if she could escape from his servants within ten seconds, he would let both of them live. Gillian agreed and began to run away through the woods. After the ten seconds were up and Gillian successfully outran Luce's servants, she returned to where Emilia was, only to find her dead with a blade sticking out her chest. Luce then told Gillian she was an idiot for thinking he would actually spare her sister if she left her unattended for even ten seconds.[2]
Appearance[]
Emilia appears to be a tall, slender girl with shoulder-length light hair. Her Grand Valley identification number is tattooed across her upper chest. She wore a plain white long-sleeved shirt and black pants.
Personality[]
Emilia was very resourceful and, after arriving in Goldy Pond, quickly began designing traps for the demons as well as mapping out the routes they would take during the hunts. After each hunt, she gathered information about the enemies' moves and analyzed them to refine the plan. Emilia kept a journal full of notes for this purpose. Emilia also had the habit of cutting the flags and curtains at Goldy Pond, then embroidering and sewing them a border to become badges, a hobby which Gillian would pick up on and continue to do after Emilia's death.[2] Additionally, Emilia appeared to be strong-willed and determined, but also kind, selfless and eager to help anyone in need.
Skills and Abilities[]
Shortly after their arrival in Goldy Pond, Emilia, who was skilled with her hands, had started to help Oliver create several traps from wire, springs, and the few materials available. She even tested them without raising the suspicions of the demons. But what she excelled at better than the others, in addition to ideas or inventions, was patience.[2]

Gillian[]
Gillian greatly respected her older sister, but claimed she would never tell her that in person. They cared deeply for one another and tried to protect each other during the hunts. After Emilia was killed by Luce, Gillian promised to avenge Emilia by killing Luce.[2]

- The deal Luce made with Gillian and Emilia about escaping from him within ten seconds is similar to the deal he later attempted to make with Jake, Monica, and Theo.[3]
