Cindy (シンディ, Shindi) is one of the minor character of The Promised Neverland and a recurring character from the A Letter from Norman light novel.
History[]
Cindy amongst many children that were shipped out of Grace Field House Plant 3.
Cindy was an orphan who formerly resided at Grace Field House Plant 3 as one of the many foster children of Isabella before she was shipped out. Cindy enjoyed playing the violin.[1]
Appearance[]
She wears a hairband and has tan skin with rosy cheeks and white hair with long bangs parted down the middle. She wore the standard Grace Field uniform- a plain white long sleeved button-up shirt and a white skirt along with brown boots. Her identification number is tattooed on the left side of her neck.
Personality[]
Cindy was a kind girl and appeared to be more quiet and reserved than the rest of her siblings. However, she still enjoyed playing and studying with her siblings and was always ready to help anyone in need. On Norman's 11th birthday, Cindy performed a birthday song for him on her violin.[1] Like all of her siblings, she enjoyed playing tag and hide-and-seek.

Emma, Norman and Ray[]
Cindy appeared to be close to Norman as she performed a birthday song for him on her violin for his 11th birthday.[1] Emma has a deep regard for Cindy, as she is a part of her "family". Upon learning that all of their sibling that had been shipped out were dead, Emma and Norman cry and are grief stricken. Although, Ray had learned to mask his emotions over the years, he still deeply cared for his siblings and was sad whenever someone was shipped out. Ray described all of his siblings that had been shipped out as "good kids" who were "so kind and carefree."
Isabella[]
Cindy did not know the real intentions of her caretaker and therefore it is assumed that she loved her very much, up until her death.

Cindy's violin in Isabella's secret room.
- In A Letter from Norman, it is revealed that Cindy was living at Grace Field House Plant 3 in 2045. But in the manga, no child by that name is present at the house in that year. However, a violin with Cindy's name written on it is seen in Isabella’s secret room in chapter 17 of the manga, suggesting that she once lived there.
- Cindy made a cameo in The Promised Neverland anime series' first and second ending theme songs, Zettai Zetsumei and Lamp, respectively. Cindy is the girl with the white hairband and long bangs parted down the middle seen praying at the dining table in Grace field's cafeteria along with Isabella and several other orphans.
