Using the Promised Pen, the team initiated the self-destruct machine which was under Goldy Pond near to the Golden Lake. As the team made their escape, water flooded Goldy Pond and destroyed the place and the demons within.
Oliver wanted to sacrifice his life so he would not be a burden to Lucas and the other orphans when they prepare to leave Goldy Pond. Lucas and the others denied his claim, saying how he meant and contribute a lot for them, and thus they would be bringing him away from Goldy Pond as well. Lucas gave Nigel the Promised Pen, wanting him to use it to destroy Goldy Pond through a self-destruct machine near the Golden Lake. As Goldy Pond was submerged into the deep depths of the water caused by the destruction, killing the poachers in the process, the humans are finally free from the place, as they now ventured through the forest.
