The Secret Garden (シークレット・ガーデン, Shīkuretto Gāden?) is the fifty-fifth chapter of The Promised Neverland.
Synopsis[]
Emma wakes up in a village, remembering the events of the night before. Meanwhile, Mister and Ray run from the scene
Plot[]
Emma wakes up in a village decorated head to toe in colors and balloons. From a first glance, it seems to be an amusement park, but upon further investigation, Emma realizes it's a village made for humans. However, as she looks inside the houses, they seem to be empty and full of dolls. She wonders why there would even be a village for humans in the demon world. As she wanders around more, she finds a field along with a mansion outside the village. She notes many odd occurrences, like how it's meant to be winter but the breeze feels like the spring. She also notes how she remains unharmed. Her final decision is to find Mister and Ray as soon as possible, and to do that she needs to know where she is. As she thinks of her plan, a human runs past her, in which she follows.
Cutting back to Mister and Ray as Emma was taken, Mister drags Ray away, warning him that he could be taken as well. When the two finally catch their breath, Mister explains what happened to Emma; what he believes to be poachers took her, and reveals his plan to Ray: his original plan was to draw attention to the poachers by shooting them until they regenerated many times. This way, any intelligent demon who saw them would believe something was up. This was the same way the Glory Bell Escapees were caught. Mister apologizes for luring the demons in, and explains that there's nothing to be done now but to go back to the shelter. However, Ray refuses to give up, explaining how he wouldn't be able to face Norman in the afterlife. Ray begins to question Mister on where Emma is, since he's been at the same location before.
Emma currently is now figuring out where she is, looking at her hand that reads USE YOUR PEN. Once taking it out, the location is revealed to be A08-63, Goldy Pond. Once her pen is put away, she spots a sign that has a set of rules:
- Music
- Monsters
- Survive
As she finally finishes reading it, the music begins, and the same child who ran from her tells her the monsters are coming and should hide. Children are spotted in the forest as well as in houses, hiding and huddling together. Mister finally reveals that Goldy Pond is a secret hunting ground for rich demons, made for the purpose of hunting and devouring children like how many demons did before the farms were made.
