Could Have Been Me (もしもの私, Moshi Mono Watashi?) is the sixty-fourth chapter of The Promised Neverland manga.
Synopsis[]
Emma pours her heart out to the Nameless Geezer, causing him to flashback again and again to the deaths of his family and friends.
Plot[]
After hearing Emma's skeptical question of her and Ray wanting to save him, the man remained silent as Emma attempted to convince him on how they are similar in terms of how they both escaped from the orphanage and thus they no need to be enemies. The enraged man soon vulgarly objected her—only to have Emma to backfire him. Emma then assumed the suffering and loss he once went through as a way to let him come to his senses on how they both are similar, and also to get him to be on their side.
Eyes glowing in defiance, the man tried to talk back, the conversation soon spiraled into an argument. The two began arguing with each other for a long time until Emma told the man that he had to fight and survive for the sake of his fallen comrades. The man began thinking back to how he lost his friends. Emma's words inspired him to get a change of heart and told her to head back to the shelter. He warned her with a worried look on his face to not go towards Goldy Pond. After telling her that, Emma was snatched away by an unknown kind and moved over to a strange looking town. Once woken up, Emma started wondering where she is.
