Plot[]
Following the events at the end of the previous chapter, Ray claims he knew the truth from the beginning, confusing Emma and Norman. He asks if they knew about childhood amnesia, seeing that they didn't, he asks what their earliest memory is. The two answer that they remember from 3 and 4 years old. Ray explains that naturally people forget their memories of when they were babies, being childhood amnesia, but there are rare cases where it doesn't occur, revealing that he still remembers when he was a baby. Ray says he remembers when he was still in his mother's womb, remembering her voice and the lullabies she sang, but he never got to see her.
As he counts, he is shown the memory of Ray being born and being placed with several other babies, being watched by the boss. Grandmother orders the next 5 kids, with Ray among them. He has the transmitter attached to his ear. He is then led through a dark tunnel by Grandmother, being delivered into Mama Isabella's arms, surprising them both. Emma asks what was beyond the gate, Ray replies that there is Headquarters. He comments that he was bothered because his memories did not coincide with the reality in which he lived, until he was literate and proved that his memories were correct and that this was not a mere orphanage but a false reality. He says that on his 6th birthday he asked Mama, shocking her for a moment, where he confirmed his hypotheses and where he started his plans. Emma feels bad that Ray has endured this his entire life. He tells the two that "Grace Field House" is Headquarters and the 5 plants , crossing the gate they would only encounter adults and demons, stating that this is why the wall's security must remain shallow and he was confident that nothing would change. He hands Norman the Transmitter Disable Device and tells Norman to use it in the forest, revealing that he used the camera's flash to finish it. He also says that Don and Gilda are making new ropes out of extra sheets that Don stole at his request. They are determined to all flee together.
Later, Mama Isabella announces at dinner that a lovely couple has decided to adopt Norman, with him leaving them the next day. The children are divided, happy that Norman gets adopted, but sad that he leaves, especially Shelly , who even knocks over a plate when he hears the news. Norman thanks them and hugs them. At the same moment, Ray, Don and Gilda stare seriously at Isabella, who smiles at them and says it's time for dinner. In the infirmary, Emma is glad they can save Norman. His broken leg moves a little, symbolizing his recovery. So she starts eating her dinner and claims she'll recover quickly. In his room, Norman is determined to do something, until he finds the pen left by Sister Krone in your drawer.
The next day, Emma narrates that it was another normal day. They woke up, had breakfast, took the daily tests , everyone was as usual. Emma and Ray are leaning against a tree, where Ray calms her and tells her that everything will be fine. The narration continues and Emma says that Norman has disappeared.
