The Bald man is a minor character of The Promised Neverland series. He is an ancestor of the orphans and a former ally of Julius Ratri, who, due to the latter's sacrifice to end the war between demons and humans, became one of humanities' first cattle.

History[]

1,000 years ago, the man was caught up in a war between the humans and demons. At some point, he met five other allies on the battlefield, including Julius Ratri, and they all became trusted companions, putting aside nations and races to fight together. One night after a whole day of fighting with countless causalities, the six allies discussed about what to do to end the bloodshed. Julius suddenly proposed to the idea of offering up a portion of humans to the demons in exchange for letting other humans live, but the man and the other four were against this, deeming that it was possible to end the war without anyone getting eaten.[1]

A few days later, Julius once again brought up his previous proposal and wanted his allies to reconsider it; sick and tired of continuously having to sacrifice people. His allies refused once again; not only to save innocent humans, but because they didn't want Julius to suffer on his own and carry all of his burdens by himself. Julius, dissatisfied by their answers, revealed how he had already made a deal with DemonKing Name. He betrayed his allies to achieve peace between the worlds, in which the bald man and his four other allies were devoured by the demons, and in the process, became humanities' first cattle.[2]

Appearance[]

He was an adult man with a well-toned body and dark skin. He was bald and had dark-colored eyes along with fairly small pupils. He was often seen wearing a short-sleeved white shirt along with a mantle.

Personality[]

He was a level-headed, calm and rational man. At times, he could be quite blunt, but nonetheless cared for his allies deeply and had a deep sense of right and wrong.[1]

Trivia[]

  • When asked about the names, origin, status, etc of Julius’ friends. Shirai responded, "Honestly, I think it's best to see them from a wide and larger perspective as the demon exterminating avengers instead of people from specific countries or locations. So I wouldn't dare to reveal their nationalities or names. I'm sorry."[3]
  • He is one of twelve black characters in The Promised Neverland series with the others being Krone, Olivia, Chamberlain, Vincent, Zack, Pepe, Jemima, Ayshe, Dominic, Erica and the Windmill Boy.
